Scriptures reveal that God’s love is unfailing, boundless, and everlasting. His love is also expansive, expensive and expressive. The Father has shown, proven and demonstrated His love toward us in Christ. The eternal God did this for us in Christ even before the foundation of this world. Graciously, God chose us in Christ in His love.
“Even as [IN HIS LOVE] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, . . . before Him IN LOVE 5 For He foreordained us (destined us, planned IN LOVE FOR US) to be adopted (revealed) as His own children through Jesus Christ. . .” (Ephesians 1:4-5, AMPC)
The passage above beautifully articulates God’s love and how it was put into action in eternity past for us.
Again, God demonstrated His love toward us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. In the new birth, God delivered us from the control and dominion of darkness and brought us unto Himself through Christ. In Christ, God lavished His love on us to be called His children (I Jn 3:2). The Father blessed us with all spiritual blessings in the heavenly places, including the sharing of Christ’s throne and the authority it represents.
God seated us together with Christ in the heavenly places, and the reason for that is clearly revealed in Ephesians 2:7 (GNT). He did this to show for all time to come the extraordinary greatness of his grace IN THE LOVE HE SHOWED US IN Christ Jesus.
Understand that we have made our home in God and His Son. They have also made their home in us and with us by the Holy Spirit to prove their love for us as our ever-present Helper (Heb. 13:5-6). This gracious act of God in love will ever continue till Christ’s glorious appearing in the sky.
