The Church of the Last Days

The writer

Jesus Christ began to build the Church by raising people’s appetite for the Word of God, teaching men how to pray and build intimacy with God, making them disciples for the salvation of the lost, excising the gifts of the Holy Spirit on men for their well being and empowering men for the end-time assignment during His time.

The early Church led by the Foundational Apostles through the Holy Spirit did same, proving that they had followed Jesus Christ.

Even the patriarchs and prophets including Abraham, Daniel, Ezra, Isaiah and Jeremiah devoted themselves to the same ministry by teaching the laws and setting men in order for God’s plan.

However, in this last days, strange things are happening in the body of Christ particularly in Africa as many churches of Jesus Christ are losing focus.

Manipulation in the Church has become so pronounced and widespread that some believers have lost the value for God’s Word.

As a result, people have become egoistic and self-centred as they prioritize their personal interests over the interest of even Jesus Christ who saved them from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God.

Today, many profess to be Christians but few portray themselves as true worshippers who serve God in Spirit and truth.(John 4:24).

Moreover, many resist Christ-centered discipleship which is why hundreds of Christians live as toddlers who always like to be fed with the milk of the Word and not strong meat.

“For every one that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil” (Hebrews 5:13-14).

Additionally, many church auditoriums today have now been turned into entertainment centres instead of sacred places for the spiritual development of the saints.

Consequently, many believers have become lethargic, lukewarm, cold and weak spiritually, physically, mentally and emotionally.

Another challenge facing the Church in various parts of the world is the prevalence of carnality among believers, a situation which characterized the church of Corinth (1 Cor 3:1-10).

Today, some messages ministers preach and teach have nothing to do with the gospel, because many believers don’t want to hear the truth but heresies which their itching ears want to hear. (2 peter 2:1/2 Tim 2:14).

It is sad that when a Christian or a man of God falls into afflictions, dangers, calamities or  challenges, fellow believers are those who rise up first to mock him or her before the people of the world do so.

This is the reason why unbelievers ridicule the Church of Jesus Christ these days because they see believers fight among themselves.

Undoubtedly, the challenges facing the Church today require new armies of watchmen, revivalists, intercessors and warriors, who will rise up and stand in the gap to confront them and lift the banner of God high as they preach the gospel of Christ Jesus.

But this can only be achieved through unrelenting prayers and fasting for intercession so as to take the body of Christ back to its glorious state.

May you, dear reader, be part of these rising armies in this last days (Joel 2:28).

Yes, there is a need for spiritual awakening so that we don’t loose our place as believers in the kingdom of our lord Jesus Christ and of eternity.

Be a good Christian and live with the heart of our master Jesus Christ to see His power and glory (Matt 5:8).
