“The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs – heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, provided we suffer with him in order that we may also be glorified with him” (Romans 8:16-17).
Since God owns all things, He apponted Jesus, His Son as the heir of all things (Heb 1:2). It means Jesus is the richest person who lives. All who believe in Him as their Saviour and Lord become adopted children of God.
They become His siblings, and are given the right to inherit God’s estate with Him. In other words, they are heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, so become as rich as Christ. It is written that all who believe in the Lord are bestowed with His riches (Rom 10:12).
God has thus blessed Christians with riches untold in Christ Jesus. As a people blessed with every blessing in the heavenly realms in Christ (Eph 1:3), Christians have been made so rich.
The evidence of their being blessed with the blessing of Abraham in Christ is the Holy Spirit that they receive in Him (Gal 3:14). And it takes the Holy Spirit for anyone to access these riches through Christ (Eph 2:18).
Indeed, all things are God’s, and He has given them to Christ, His Son, and Christ has also given them to those whom God has made His own (1 Cor 3:21-23). Therefore, Christians have God’s rich treasure inside of them, even though they are jars of clay (2 Cor 4:7). Even if they look poor in the eyes of the world, they are rich before God.
Every person becomes a child of God in Chtist, prince and priest, made so rich, noble, beautiful, glorious, and holy, so let them by faith receive their rich estate from Christ and live in abundance.
PRAYER: Father, thank you for giving your greatest treasure; Jesus Christ to all who believe in Him. They are rich in Him for they have access to all things by His Spirit. May they by faith possess every blessing given them in Christ. Amen.
