Dr. Emmanuel Twumasi-Ankrah, a servant of Jesus Christ and a lecturer at the Christian Service University writes a short poem which highlights the role of a good father.
It is a personal reflection on who a good father is. It communicates an inner appreciation of a father by a person who has experienced the warmth, protection, provision, vision and guidance from a good father.
Below is the poem:
Father, you are a father who is not far to father.
Father, you have crossed oceans,
Climbed mountains,
Quenched the fires
That we will not expire.
Father, you’re a father with feathers
That cover your children.
Father, bravery, strength, vision are your hallmark.
Father, you build lives with your life.
Father, you’re a treasure that we treasure.
You treat us with a measure,
Your footprints
Are our blueprints
Father, with you as our signpost,
We will not miss our signpost.
Father, at thirty, forty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety …
You’re pretty.
