WE STATED in a previous teaching that many ministers are twisting the Gospel of God’s grace today. They are turning the grace of God upside down thereby leading ignorant believers to indulge in indecent behaviour.
Several Christians are carried away by the erroneous teaching on grace due to their lack of in depth understanding of the true grace of God.
Any teaching on grace that promotes or encourages sloppy, careless, impure or sinful living is A TWISTED VERSION OF GRACE. The true grace of God empowers us to live holy lives as we journey with Christ:
Titus 2:11-12
11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, 12 TEACHING US THAT, DENYING UNGODLINESS AND WORLDLY LUSTS, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age.
Grace trains, disciplines and instructs us to say no to sin – denounce ungodliness and worldly desires.
Again, the true grace of God empowers us to live SOBERLY, RIGHTEOUSLY and GODLY in this world. The Spirit of God through Paul further revealed to Titus that Christ redeemed us from every kind of sin for us to be totally committed to doing good works – Titus 2:14.
We must all understand this: grace is never divine permission to do what is wrong; it is divine empowerment to do what is right.
