A Word That Sets The Church Apart, Makes It Unique (1)

There is a specific word which everyone who seeks to make it to heaven must hear. You cannot be a candidate of heaven unless you have heard this word to lead you to believe in Christ Jesus.

What is this word that is alien to all other faiths in the world? Fellow Christian, there is a word or a message which is exclusive to only the Church. Only the Body of Christ preaches it for the salvation of souls.

It is this message that sets the Church of Jesus Christ apart and makes it unique and envious to the devil and his agents. Knowledge of this word, a great salvation plan, should inspire us to love our God greatly and also work hard to preach it to the multitude of people who have been deceived by the devil.

Let me ask you: which word did you hear to convert you to Christ? Which message convinced you to place your faith in Christ Jesus? Who preached it to you?

It is very important that the gospel, the message about the death and resurrection of Christ Jesus is preached to you. That is the word I am talking about; it is called the Word of truth, the gospel of salvation. It talks about why Christ died on the cross and rose again.

It is not proper for a pastor to preach just any message and do altar call or simply ask people to confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, to make them Christians when they have not sincerely heard, believed and received the message of the cross.

I mean, it is biblically incorrect for a pastor to simply quote Romans 10:9-10 and tell people that they will be saved if they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead.

Unfortunately, this is what we hear being done on radio and television stations today. It is one of the challenges facing many churches today. We call people Christians when they have no understanding of what makes people Christians.

Before we tell people to confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and Saviour…we ought to have read Romans Chapter 10 properly. We should look at the 8th verse which talks about the Word of faith which must first be in the mouths and hearts of believers.

In other words, people must first have the “Word of faith” which is also called the “Word of truth” in their mouths and hearts before proper confessions of their faith can be made to secure their salvation.

To be continued…
