Do Not Commercialize God’s Blessings

Christian leaders are appointed and set in churches as stewards of God’s manifold gifts and graces with a key responsibility of serving people entrusted to their care.

However, in ministering to people, some church leaders, driven by financial gain, cajole those who are ignorant into paying money for the blessings of God.

Now, it is important for us to understand that commercializing God’s blessings means treating divine favour, grace, and the gifts of grace as if they were commodities that can be traded, bought, or earned.

As stewards of God’s grace, we should remind ourselves that we are not to ask people seeking healing, deliverance, or any kind of breakthrough to pay money for it.

God has freely given us gifts of grace, power, and authority to serve others without any cost. As the scripture says, “Freely you have received; freely give” (Matthew 10:8).

This means that we should not expect payment from those who receive miracles or breakthroughs.

However, individuals are free to support our ministry or give back to God as an act of worship and gratitude after experiencing a miracle, but it must be of their own free will (2 Kings 5:16; Luke 8:1-3).

Sadly, many Christians today believe that every blessing, miracle, or breakthrough requires giving money. We are led to believe that every blessing, miracle, or breakthrough is somehow connected to the giving of money.

However, the gift of God can never be bought with money (Acts 8:20). God’s spiritual provisions and blessings are offered freely, without cost.

This is an open invitation to all, especially those who recognize their need or thirst for something greater (Isaiah 55:1-2).

All that is required is to receive every blessing or favour by faith ( Rom. 5:2). God’s blessings are not for sale.
