ONE OF the most effective strategies the devil uses to keep some Christians defeated is to stir up pride in them. The enemy knows and understands that God has strong issues with pride. The devil thus generates pride in us to move us away from God.
We must understand that pride is the greatest destroyer of marriages, businesses, churches, families, individual lives and our relationship with God. Know this: pride is a very effective and destructive tool of the devil.
Again, pride is the greatest catalyst for all rebellion and idolatry against God. Pride kills one’s love, passion and desire for God. It destroys the believer’s witness for Christ. The Bible reveals that pride increases when people become more successful, prosperous and famous.
We all need to understand how God feels about pride and guard our hearts against this vice. We should eliminate arrogance, haughtiness, loftiness, conceit and pride in our lives so that the Father does not set Himself against us, resist us, oppose us and frustrate us – James. 4:6.
