The gospel of the Kingdom of God, a message about the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ, continues to be preached. It gives everyone an opportunity to be saved.
It actually started in the first-century in Israel, and spread to Asia, Europe and other parts of the world.
The Lord Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. He is the resurrection and the life. It is He alone who has power over death, having resurrected from the dead after being buried for three days. And He lives forevermore.
Jesus is the only way to eternal salvation. Millions have believed in Him and their souls saved for eternal salvation. Million others, however, have rejected Him. Their souls will be damned by their own choice.
You must be thankful to God if you are saved and sealed with the Holy Spirit. Appreciate God for His mercy and grace towards you.
Do not let the criticisms and mockeries of unbelievers against Jesus Christ, the Bible, Christianity, the Church and pastors on social media today mislead you to backslide. Hold on to your faith in God to the end.
“Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ” (Colossians 2:8).
I want you to understand that men have used various weapons including pen to attack believers in Christ. These attacks started from the very day Christ Jesus was born. Herod tried to kill Him. Afterwards, believers in various countries were persecuted in various ways.
Some were stoned to death, thrown to lions, drown in rivers, and burnt at the stakes. Others were arrested, beheaded, imprisoned, whipped and exiled. All these were suffered for their faith in Christ Jesus between first and seventeenth-centuries.
The Age of Reason in the eighteenth-century changed the focus of the attacks on the Church in Europe and America. People who lived in that period of what they called, “Enlightenment” began to doubt and criticise Christian teachings.
They questioned the doctrine of Trinity, beliefs about the existence of devils and witches. They mocked miracles and even doubted the physical existence of Jesus Christ.
Many obviously read Tom Paine’s book: “Common Sense” and his tract entitled, “The Age of Reason” to ridicule Jesus Christ and the Bible.
Most critics of Christianity today including Ghana’s Avram Ben Moshe and his ilk appear to have been influenced by these two works.
In spite of their persecutions, the Church keeps marching on robustly, the gospel is being preached to advance God’s Kingdom and souls are being won for the Lord.
What is important now is you. Yes, you. Remember the grace God has shown you, leading to your eternal salvation. Do not let anyone deceive you to reject Christ Jesus.
Continue to love and follow Him. Fellowship with a Christ-centred and gospel-focused church near you to grow in grace and the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Amen.
