ALL CHRISTIANS are said to have been generally called by God into ministry. However, God often uniquely appears to some of them through dreams, visions or trances and speak with them. God may also decide to speak with some of them by putting a desire in their hearts (spirits).
Through these supernatural encounters, God places them in servant-leadership positions in the Church with two unique things. They are specific messages and assignments that are given to them by God for the fulfillment of His purpose on earth.
Thus, everyone who claims to have been uniquely called by God into a servant-leadership position or service in the Church today should be able to clearly state the specific message and assignment God has given to him.
Very often we rush into addressing people as bishops, prophets or apostles when we have not even tested or approved them in the light of the Word of God. A man may say he is a pastor, but the question we must ask is: whose pastor is he? What are the specific message and assignment that God has entrusted to him?
One thing we must also understand is that God does not call people into ministry to accomplish their personal purposes. God calls men and women to accomplish His divine purposes. Yes, God calls people to execute His projects on earth.
God’s servants listed below could share with us the specific messages and duties God assigned each one of them. A genuine pastor today should be able to do same for the glory of God.
The Call of Noah
The Bible tells us that God called Noah with a specific message and job.
He was to “…MAKE AN ARK OF GOPHER WOOD…YOU SHALL BRING two of every sort into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female” (Genesis 6: 11- 14a, 18- 19).
We can clearly see that God called Noah to save souls. And Noah knew the specific message and job God gave him. And by that he could share them with the other people especially the members of His household.
