Your Pastor May Tell You Everything If You Ask Him

By James Quansah

GENUINE PASTORS do not set themselves up in the Church. It is God who places them in leadership positions of His Church to fulfill well-defined ministries after calling them..

Very often, when God calls His servants, He speaks to them, spelling out their responsibilities for the fulfillment of ministries He gives them.

We have already studied the examples of ministers such as Noah, Moses, Abraham, Amos and the Foundational Apostles.

But we know that God’s calling of people into ministry did not end with the Apostles of old; He stills calls apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers to continue to build His churches around the world.

If God called today’s ministers, then they responded. And if they responded, then He spoke to them. And if He spoke to them, then they heard Him. And if they heard Him, then they must be able to tell what God told them.

It is, therefore, not enough for a person to claim that God has called him into ministry without being able to declare the specific message and assignment God has given him.

Dear pastor, please, what did God tell you when He called you? What is the specific message and assignment He gave when He called you?

Anyone called by God should be able to tell others what God told him. A pastor should not be afraid to share the divine message and duty he received from God when God called him.

Knowing the specific message and assignment God gave to His servant is necessary to objectively assess the ministry of that minister.

It helps in finding out if the pastor has gone astray or is faithfully performing his divine job and functioning at the centre of God’s will.

A pastor who doesn’t have unique divine message and assignment is most likely to imitate other pastors blindly. This is one of the problems facing the modern churches around the world.

On the last day, God will judge pastors based on the precise instructions and obligations He gave each one of them.

Christians, therefore, must be given the assurance that their pastors may happily share with them the messages and assignment God gave them if they asked them.
