God Responds To Our Persistent Faith

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, YOU WILL ASK WHAT YOU DESIRE, AND IT SHALL BE DONE for you” (John 15:7).

We have discussed that whenever we ask anything according to the Father’s will, we must believe in our hearts that we have received. This is one unique principle in the prayer of faith based on Mark 11:24.

Mark 11:24 (Weymouth)
24 That is why I tell you, as to whatever you pray and make request for, IF YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT, it shall be yours.

As we continue to believe that we have received what we ask of God by going back to the Father to thank Him and not ask over and over again in unbelief, the Father will work on our behalf and grant our request.

We all need to embrace this truth that in this kind of prayer, God doesn’t respond to our repeated prayers or requests but our persistent faith.

Sadly, there are some Christians who believe that one can pray repeatedly the same way after they have prayed. The reason is that these believers don’t know that there are different kinds of prayer and different rules, laws, and principles that govern them – Eph 6:18.

They think that there is just one kind of prayer, and whatever Jesus said concerning prayer or what the apostles wrote about prayer applies to just this one kind of prayer.

Again, the essence of the parable Jesus told in  Luke 18:1-8 is lost on many Christians, and they mistakenly think they can repeatedly and persistently present their petitions to the Father.

Yes, we can repeatedly pray in other kinds of prayer, like the prayer of consecration and dedication using the same words, but the principles that govern the prayer of faith are quite different.

We need, therefore, to pray this kind of prayer with persistent faith until the answer is made manifest. The Father will only respond to our persevering faith and not our repeated prayers – Mt 15:21-28.
