Kyiri Abosom And Other Pastors Who Mock Jesus

By James Quansah

CHRISTIANS MUST attentively listen to pastors and be bold to expose and stop following pastors who mock Christ. The mouth reveals what is in the heart. And the revealed word from the heart shows who the speaker is.

A few weeks ago, Christian Kwabena Andrews, popularly called Osofo Kyiri Abosom stunned many Christians in Ghana when he mocked Jesus Christ on television.

Speaking in an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso, on her Delay show, Osofo Kyiri Abosom encouraged people to stop believing in Jesus Christ, stressing that Jesus was just a prophet and history.

Delay, who was visibly surprised at his words, then told him: “My issue is, why don’t you just accept that you’re not a Christian? You have refused to accept Jesus for who he is.”

Kyiri Abosom responded: “Is Jesus your property?” adding that, “I believe he is a prophet. I believe Mohammed is a prophet. They’re done with their work and are gone. It’s our time now. I am in Ghana. Jesus didn’t come to Ghana. He was in Isreal.”

Christiana Kwabena Andrews who is the pastor of the Live Assembly Worship Center said he didn’t believe in the supremacy of Jesus Christ as the son of God, contrary to a view held by most Christians.

According to him, Jesus Christ isn’t the one Christians should be worshipping and believing in but the Father.

He also rubbished the concepts of heaven and hell, stressing that “There’s no heaven; there’s no hell. It doesn’t mean to be evil because you’ll reap what you sow. If you do evil, you’ll suffer before you die”.

There are several other pastors who boldly speak this way in Ghana. In 2015, a Kumasi-based bishop told me, “Only beginner pastors preach about Jesus Christ.”

He said, “Your church won’t grow if you preach about Jesus.” After making those serious comments, I later understood why that pastor never preached the gospel except to end his prayers in the name of Jesus.

These words from the lips of pastors confirm the fact that there are many false, fake or self-styled pastors who have sneaked into the Body of Christ to dent its glorious image and exploit unsuspecting believers.

This places a greater responsibility on every believer to carefully investigate or examine their pastor especially in the area of their calling before accepting to follow him. This helps in identifying genuine or false pastors.

A Christian shouldn’t be an ignorant person who follows a pastor dumbly, gullibly and foolishly. A Christian must be a knowledgeable person full of light and the Holy Spirit with the ability to identify peddlers of God’s grace.
