CAN ANYONE tell the circumstance under which he or she was conceived in the womb without being told? Is there anyone who was born with the knowledge of the minute, hour, day, week, month and year in which he or she was formed in the womb?
Indeed, not even Adam could know his beginning. Adam did not know how he was made. He only realised one day that he was living on the earth. Man only came to see the earth with animals, trees, seas, lakes and rivers already existing. It is the same thing with all the children of man. This is why man cannot narrate pre-creation events unless God tells him.
I thank God for inventors and their inventions. And the world will continue to celebrate people with great critical, creative and innovative ideas. However, it is clear that no one is born into the world with the knowledge or facts about his conception and birth. I wonder if scientists like Albert Einstein and Alfred Nobel were.
Unless someone usually parents tell how their children were conceived; and the minute, hour, day, month and year in which they were born, no one else can. Only the Almighty God knows these. He told Jeremiah, the Prophet: “Now the word of the LORD came to me, saying, ‘Before I formed you in the womb I knew you” (Jeremiah 1: 4- 5).
Science therefore should draw men closer to God and cause them to believe in Him, but not distance them from God and doubt Him. An unbiased scientist with balanced academic perspectives must be a devout worshipper of God. His knowledge must expose him to a Supreme Being who is the source all perfect knowledge.
I wonder why many educated folks do not want to accept the fact that they are but finite and superficial in knowledge. Indeed, a specialist or an expert in a field of study has a wealth of knowledge but little. There are things he does not and cannot know. Who is all-knowing except God? Who is the repository of knowledge, except God?
People who believe in God and walk with Him by grace may be worried about the attitudes of those who doubt and mock God, but the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent Creator laughs at them and says, “The fool says in his heart there is no God” (Psalm 14: 1).
If God calls people who doubt Him IN THEIR HEARTS fools, then how will He call those who make such a confession WITH THEIR MOUTHS? Many a man’s problem is that they are proud, and ask unintelligent questions. Should you question the actuality of God? Atheism is the expression of man’s ignorance that he was made by an invisible Supreme God.
Man only saw himself living on the face of the earth with no knowledge of how he was created and formed. And none of the children of man can tell how they were conceived without being told? Do we not realize our helplessness concerning when and where we will die, what will cause our death and how we will die?
This should warn us to humble ourselves, fear and seek God? We must learn to appreciate the fact that man is not the beginning and the end, but God is. Man is ignorant about his beginning and end. Man, no matter his education, is not yesterday, today and forever, but God is.
Why does a sinful man want to read scriptures and understand everything about God – His ways, acts and dealings? We must realise that as humans we can never read the Bible and understand everything. The Bible is not like a dictionary, textbook or dissertation. It is the revelation of God.
As the heaven is higher than the earth so are the ways and thoughts of God higher than man’s. We cannot by our own natural ability understand everything about God without the help of the Spirit of God. If man can understand everything about God, then, God is not supreme. But we know that God is supreme and infinite. That is why His ways are past finding out.
“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out” (Romans 11: 33)!
“As you do not know the way the spirit comes to the bones in the womb of a woman with child, so you do not know the work of God who makes everything” (Ecclesiastes 11: 5).
The things of God can only be known and understood by the Spirit of God. Even with divine help there may still be some passages of Scripture that are hard to understand. This makes God supreme and powerful without peer. He is God alone full of wisdom and knowledge beyond man’s comprehension.
