“As he was about to enter Egypt, he said to his wife Sarai, “I know what a beautiful woman you are. When the Egyptians see you, they will say, ‘This is his wife.’ Then they will kill me but will let you live. Say you are my sister, so that I will be treated well for your sake and my life will be spared because of you” (Genesis 12:11-13).
Abraham, the father of faith, stumbled in fear and told a lie. Fear made him compromise truth.
Lies, no matter how small, always carry devastating consequences. There is no such thing as a harmless or “white” lie.
Because of Abraham’s weakness, he endured the anguish of knowing that his beloved wife Sarah had been taken into Pharaoh’s house.
But God, in His mercy, intervened to protect her and to preserve His covenant plan.
Child of God, fear often pushes us toward compromise, but faith gives us the courage to stand for truth.
In our workplaces, families, and daily interactions, let us resolve to be people of integrity.
A culture of lies may surround us, but we are called to be the light that speaks truth with boldness.
✨ Prayer: Lord, grant me the courage to overcome fear and the boldness to always speak the truth, no matter the cost.
