We have affirmed that God has prepared and laid up resources in His heavenly storehouse to meet every dimension of our needs. The reality is that as God ‘s resources flow to us, we must regard ourselves as stewards, not owners.
To be a steward means to manage something that belongs to someone else according to the owner’s will. True stewardship, therefore, begins with a proper understanding that we do not own God’s resources; we are entrusted to manage them.
An essential step in stewardship is personal preparation—setting oneself apart as a vessel of honour for God’s use (2 Timothy 2:20–21). Thankfully, when God entrusts His resources to you, they are to be used in service to others (1 Peter 4:10–11).
Jesus Christ, our perfect model of stewardship, had access to all of God’s resources, yet He used them entirely to serve humanity—not for His own comfort or personal advantage.
As you steward God’s resources faithfully with integrity, humility, and obedience, the Father can release a greater measure of His resources to you.
As our standard for stewardship, Jesus Christ was faithful in all things, consistently carrying out the Father’s will in His teaching, ministry, and conduct.
In the same way, faithfulness is required of us in stewardship, just as demonstrated by Christ, our perfect example (1 Corinthians 4:2).
