Being a Christian is beautiful, inspiring and assuring. True Christians may have various troubles such as rejection, sickness, hunger, betrayal, insult or oppression in the world for their faith in Jesus, but they will not be overpowered.
This is because children of God are over-comers as they have Christ Jesus as their anchor, defender and buckler. Christ Jesus does not only defend His people, He also saves them from troubles.
The greatest reason to be a happy Christian is the eternal life you have in Christ Jesus. Our God gives eternal life to everyone who genuinely believes in Him and repents after hearing the message of His death, burial and resurrection.
Even before Jesus became flesh and dwelled among men, Elijah and other prophets had raised the dead by His Spirit. And when He Himself walked the earth, He raised the dead and gave them life.
Thus, Jesus Christ could boldly say, “I am the resurrection and the life.” Yes, Christ Jesus is the life so He had power to lay down His life and the power to take it up again.
Indeed, those who trust in Christ and live by His Word and Spirit have the life of God. The life of God in a true, born again Christian is indestructible and unconquerable. It is constant and unchanging.
The Christian who has the life of Christ must always be clothed in the armour of God: the belt of truth, the breast plate of righteousness, gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit.
And through daily prayers in the Holy Spirit, a Christian is able to withstand in the evil day and overcomes the works of the devil against them.
Thus, Satan and his demons cannot have dominion over true Christians. Evil men may curse them but the life of Christ in them will turn the curse to a blessing. Evil forces will fight against them, but they will not succeed.
The life of Christ in true Christians help them to live a life of righteousness, purity, holiness and victory thereby shining gloriously as light in this world of darkness. They have the righteousness of God as their divine garment.
This is the beauty of being a Christian. Unbelievers who ridicule the Bible, our faith and our Saviour do not have the blessings we have. Let us, therefore, hold on to the confession of our faith in Christ Jesus.
Amen!
