“…Give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar, and give to God what belongs to God” (Matthew 22:21 (NLT).
By the grace of God, we are beginning a new series, and I am privileged to lead the first part, titled *Give Back to God the Things That Belong to God.*
The Church must recognize and understand that certain things belong to God and should be rendered to Him. God is worthy of our worship, praise, thanksgiving, and devotion.
Obeying God and living according to His will are essential aspects of giving back to Him. Our bodies, talents, gifts, and resources must be used in ways that honour God.
In this series, we will focus primarily on giving back to God from the resources or finances He has entrusted to us. We will explore various aspects, including:
1. What God expects us to give back to Him as an act of worship, gratitude, and obedience.
2. The empowering force we must rely on to give back to God, regardless of circumstances.
3. The attitude with which God desires us to give back to Him.
4. The motivating power that should drive our giving.
5. The enduring relevance of tithing under the New Covenant of grace.
We must remain consciously aware that what we have comes from God, and we give back to Him in response to His graciousness, the magnitude of His love for us, and the blessings and provisions He has made available to us in Christ (1 Chron. 29:14-16; Rom. 11:34-36).
Therefore, we must honour the Lord with the first and best of our increase, that He may accept not only our offerings but also ourselves (Prov. 3:9; Gen. 4:1-5, NLT).
