If Jesus Christ Were Your Master and Lord

“Ye call me MASTER AND, LORD: and ye say well, for so I am” (John 13:13, KJB).

Many apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors and teachers in this generation have forgotten about the position Jesus Christ holds in the churches they oversee.

These church leaders do not pay serious attention to their relationship with the Lord, because they do not really know who He is to them.

But, of course, there are others who know the unique place Christ Jesus occupies in their lives,  ministry and the Church.

These faithful ministers gladly call Him Master and Lord, and Jesus Christ praises them for their true confession, because that is exactly who He is.

Now, if Jesus Christ were truly your Master and Lord, you will be humble and mindful of how you relate with Him, knowing who you are before Him.

Those who call Jesus Christ their Master and Lord regard themselves as His servants and students and refuse to attach titles of nobility He has not given them to their names.

Through His servant, Malachi, God rebuked ministers who allowed pride to lead them astray to forget their Master, dishonour and despise His name.

“A son honours his father, and a SERVANT HIS MASTER. If then I am a father, where is my honour? And if I am a master, where is my fear? says the LORD of host to you, O priests, who despise my name…” (Malachi 1:6).

Christ Jesus is the Master and Head of the Church. All ministers are His servants who are called upon to honour His name while being used to build the Church.

But today many despise the name of the Master by failing to testify to the truths about Him. They do not SERIOUSLY preach the gospel of Jesus.

Some pastors do not sincerely abide in the doctrine of Christ Jesus. Even many of those who preach Him do so incompletely as they fail to preach the whole counsel of God (Acts 20: 27).

But a faithful servant of Christ, seeking to build the church of Christ, is committed to preaching nothing, except the gospel of Christ Jesus. He is loyal to Jesus as he wants deacons and other people under him to be loyal to him.

Even if he preaches from the Old Testament, he will make known everything that was written about Jesus Christ in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms.

This means that Moses, David, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel and several other prophets preached about Jesus. He is the only One who is superior, greater, preeminent, excellent and highly exalted above every name that is named.

Jesus Christ is the central message in the entire Bible written by men who regarded themselves as servants and Jesus Christ as their Master and Lord.

If you believe and know that Jesus Christ is your Master and Lord, where then is His honour and fear?
