Giving is a spiritual act that activates heaven’s supply. It is an expression of our faith in God, our reverence for Him, our obedience to Him, and our love for Him.
When our giving supports the preaching of the gospel, strengthens the Church, cares for the poor and the vulnerable, and advances God’s will on earth, it engages heaven’s divine order.
Under the Mosaic Covenant, God responded to Israel’s giving by opening the windows of heaven and pouring out His blessing upon His covenant people.
These blessings brought peace and security, agricultural productivity, fruitfulness of the land, and economic stability, causing the nations to recognise Israel as a blessed and delightful land (Proverbs 3:9–10; Malachi 3:8–12; 2 Chronicles 31:4-10).
Under the New Covenant of Grace, heaven remains continually open to us in Christ. Heaven responds to our giving by supplying all our needs—spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional—according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
Giving under grace is not merely about material provision; God causes every expression of His grace to abound towards us, so that we have all sufficiency in all things for every good work (Philippians 4:19; 2 Corinthians 9:6- 8).
Giving, therefore, does not earn what Christ has already secured. Rather, it activates and gives expression to what already belongs to us in Christ, making these covenant realities living and experiential in our daily walk.
