“That evening they brought to him many who were oppressed by demons, and he cast out the spirits with a word and healed all who were sick” (Matt. 8:16).
Diseases resulted from sin so they are part of the works of the devil that Christ Jesus came to destroy (1 John 3:8). Therefore, one of the key activities in Jesus’ ministry was the healing of all disease that came his way (Matt. 4:23).
Faith in Him brought healing to many people. For example, the bleeding woman believed that the mere touch of His garment would bring healing to her, and she was healed instantly at His Word upon touching it (Matt. 9:20-22).
Again, the leper believed that if He willed, He could heal him, and was healed instantly at His Word (Matt. 8:1-4).
There are countless other examples of various kinds of diseases that vanished from the bodies of people who believed in Jesus Christ (Matt. 15:30,31). By these He showed that He is the Great Physician.
After His death, resurrection, and ascension into heaven, the Lord left the healing ministry with His disciples. It was to be exercised by faith in His Word and by His will.
Faith is believing what we do not see but the Word of God says it exists (Heb 11:1), for God has already accomplished everything for people in Christ.
Therefore, healing of diseases has already taken place in Him and exists in the spirit realm. It is up to us to believe and see it manifest.
It is written that He has already borne our griefs and carried our diseases (Matt. 8:17), and by His stripes, we were healed (1 Pet 2:24).
He has already finished with it (John 19:30), and faith in His Word, which is active and living (Heb 4:12), shall bring it to manifeststion.
The Word of God that created all things, also has control over them all. It can reach any part of a person’s body; even to the division of soul and spirit and the meeting of joints and marrow (Heb 4:12) and heal any sickness there, be it physical or emotional.
This Word resides in a Christian so it can be confessed in faith by the sick for personal healing or for the healing of others who believe. Surely, the Word that created the world can fix any problem in the human body.
Christ Jesus, whilst on earth, healed by His Word. Now, in heaven, He commands His disciples to heal or be healed by His Word
Doctors may cure people of their ailments but Christ Jesus heals the total person completely. He heals the soul of sin by His blood and heals the body of diseases by His stripes.
Christ Jesus heals sick souls by His blood and sick bodies by His stripes, so believe in His Word to be healed or to heal.
PRAYER: Father, thank you for Christ who gives total healing to a person who believes in His word. May the sick confess his word in faith and be healed. Amen
