“So Abram said to Lot, “Let’s not quarrel with each other, or between our herdsmen, since we are relatives. Look at the vast land that is in front of you! Let’s settle in different regions. If you choose the land on the left, then I’ll go right, and if you want land on the right, then I’ll go left” (Genesis 13:8-9).
Conflict is inevitable in life, but how we handle it determines whether we build bridges or burn them.
Abraham faced a situation that could have caused a lasting strife between him and his nephew, Lot, but he chose the path of peace.
Instead of fighting for his right, Abraham trusted God as his ultimate provider. True greatness is not found in winning arguments but in keeping relationships.
Abraham’s decision teaches us that a peacemaker is never a loser. Jesus Christ declares, “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called children of God” (Matthew 5:9).
Are you struggling with family disputes over property? Are you in constant quarrels at work or with friends? Choose peace over pride.
When you let go and let God, you open the door for Him to bless you beyond what human contention could ever secure.
Abraham’s faith reminds us that we lose nothing by choosing peace—we only gain more of God’s favor.
🙌 Prayer
Lord, give me the heart of a peacemaker. Help me to trust You as my source and refuse to let conflict rob me of my joy, relationships, or destiny. May I walk in the footsteps of Abraham, showing love and peace, even when others misunderstand me. Amen.
