“But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach to you a gospel contrary to the one we preached to you, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:8).
The gospel is that, God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to die to save sinners (the entire human race as all had sinned). He died on the cross to save them from sin by his blood, and rose from the dead to justify them, and ascended into heaven to give them life by His Spirit. This is God’s way of salvation for every person, and the way is Jesus Christ (John 14:6).
The earth cannot assist heaven in the salvation of humanity, for sin has brought a curse upon it thus making everything on it accursed. It is written, “Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? There is not one” (Job 14:4).
Therefore, the earth gives out only unclean things. Every good and perfect gift comes from above, from God the Father (James 1:17). Therefore, any attempt by people to add unto the gospel of Christ to make it complete, shall be futile and rather distort it. It shall make it no longer God’s gospel.
No person or an angel from heaven can preach any different gospel apart from the word of God’s grace available in Christ Jesus. For Jesus is God’s beloved Son, with whom He is well pleased, and to whom all are to listen (Mt 17:5).
Indeed, in these last days, God has spoken to people by his Son only (Heb 1:2). Therefore, any message from any person or angel, purported to be from God, should be in alignment with the gospel of Christ Jesus or be rejected as false.
The gospel of Jesus Christ is God’s gift graciously given to sinners to be received by faith, so let them freely receive it with thanksgiving and refuse any distorted message presented as the gospel.
PRAYER: Father, thank you for leaving your Spirit with the church to teach them your word as taught by Christ Jesus. May He lead them into all truth so that they shall reject any different gospel . Amen.
