God’s Purpose Of Creating Man

We are beginning a new teaching series on God’s purpose of creating man. The teaching will lead us into understanding that God created man specifically for His glory 

“Everyone who is called by My name, whom I have created for My glory; I have formed him, yes, I have made him” (Isaiah 43:7, NKJV).

God’s ultimate purpose in creating humanity was for His glory. He created man to partake of His glory, reflect His glory, and bring glory to Him through every thought, word, action, and deed.

Before we can understand our purpose in life, we must first understand the glory of God.

The glory of God is the revelation and manifestation of who God is. It is the visible display of His divine character, holiness, majesty, power, wisdom, love, mercy, justice, faithfulness, and mighty works. Wherever God makes Himself known, His glory is revealed (Exodus 33:17–19; 34:5–7; John 2:11; 11:4, 40).

The story of the Bible is ultimately the story of God’s glory—from creation, through the fall, to redemption in Christ, and finally to the eternal glory of God’s everlasting kingdom. Understanding God’s glory is therefore essential to understanding His purpose for humanity.

Because God created man for His glory, He made him in His own image and likeness and crowned him with glory and honour (Psalm 8:5). Adam was created to live in fellowship with God, reflect His character, exercise righteous dominion over the earth, and glorify Him through joyful and faithful obedience.

In this series, we will discover God’s original purpose for mankind, how sin caused humanity to fall short of God’s glory, and how Jesus Christ, through His redemptive work, restored us so that we may once again partake of God’s glory, reflect His glory, and live for His glory.

May the Holy Spirit open our eyes to behold the greatness of God’s eternal purpose for our lives and empower us to fulfil it, so that in all things God alone may be glorified.
