Important Roles the Church Plays In National Development

The Christian Church may not be perfect but it is regarded as the greatest life-transforming organisation in the world.

By the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, thousands of people who otherwise were despondent have been saved and received hope.

The lives of those who would have operated as armed robbers, murderers, prostitutes, homosexuals, drug addicts and other criminals or social deviants have been transformed.

Also, many who think of committing suicide after being hit hard by life’s challenges rescind their decision when they hear the message of hope preached by the Church.

Indeed, the Church is not a curse but a blessing to humanity. Thus hundreds of helpless people today testify of having academic degrees and great jobs because the Church sponsored their education.

Helping the poor is a ministry the Church pays greater attention to. Even small churches regularly make donations to the inmates of various orphanage homes and prisons to alleviate their burden.

Furthermore, it is the Church that keeps several companies in business. Consider millions of chairs, building materials, musical instruments, clothing, water, drinks and other products and services it patronises.

Similarly, a number of banks, television and radio stations will go bankrupt and eventually flop if the Church ends.

This is because the Body of Chris is arguably one if not the biggest clients of most of these businesses or entities.

In the area of education and health, the Church is arguably the greatest private investor, building schools, hospitals and clinics in cities, towns and villages.

Over the years, Christians have built orphanages, philanthropic organisations, publishing houses, bookshops, recording studios, tourism sites, farms and several other businesses.

These have certainly created employment opportunities for people, increased wealth and made life meaningful for millions.

We should also not forget that most church premises are used as voter registration and voting centres during national elections.

Again, most scientific investigations and inventions have been triggered by biblical claims.

Besides, the Bible is deemed as the greatest source of wisdom for business, governance, agriculture, architecture, financial management, construction, banking, security, justice, marriage, rule of law, democracy, kingship, parenthood and discipline.

This clearly indicates that the Church plays an important role in national development thereby improving the lives of people.

So, now, let those who dare campaign against the Church first learn to think deeply and see right. We pray that God may open the eyes of their mind to see beyond their nose.
