It is ridiculous how infidels abuse the minds and hearts of people, especially immature Christians, about the reality of Jesus Christ with falsehoods. It is funny to hear unbelievers say that Jesus Christ is merely a myth.
A myth, according to the Merriam-Webster dictionary, is “a popular belief or tradition that has grown up around something or someone” or “a person or thing having only an imaginary or unverifiable existence.”
Sometimes, I wonder why some people would say things like that. But I soon remember that they are people with atheistic mindset. They are not necessarily critical thinkers imbued with logical reasoning ability, but people with warped and depraved mindset.
Millions of people in all the continents of the world have encountered Jesus Christ, benefited from His saving grace, tasted of His power, received His Spirit to dwell in their hearts and witnessed His life-transforming grace in their lives. How can we, then, agree with the opinion of blind critics that Jesus Christ is a mere myth?
As for me and my household, it is too late for anyone to abuse our minds about the reality and genuineness of Christ Jesus. My proof of His existence is that the Bible says so. Besides, He healed me of a disease which medical doctors at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), Kumasi, could not diagnose let alone treat in 2016.
My family members, former co-workers at the Ashanti Regional office of the Daily Guide newspaper in Kumasi, former lead pastor and church leaders as well as close friends can testify about this. I was attacked with a strange deadly disease which attempted to paralyse me and make me dumb.
The disease struck me after an attack in a dream. For over three years I struggled to open my mouth to speak clearly. I could not sing in those years. I suffered severe peppery sensation all over my body. One part of my body nearly paralysed.
Initially, doctors at KATH’s Emergency Unit who attended to me suspected stroke, but after a thorough examination at the Maxillofacial Unit, it was ruled out. Clearly, it was not a physical disease that could be diagnosed and treated with scientific methods. It was purely a disease that an enemy afflicted me spiritually, and could only be cured spiritually.
Prayers with fasting to God in the name of Jesus Christ was the only option. Nothing else. Then, great grace for fervent prayers was given to me. Initially, because of my inability to open my mouth to utter words, I resorted to meditative prayers and Bible reading. Prayer and Bible study must always go together. As you talk to God, let Him also talk to you.
This went on for about three years (between 2015 and 2017). Towards the end of 2017, my condition deteriorated, and I realised I would die, considering the terrifying dreams of seeing dead people, coffin, and walking around the cemetery in my hometown.
Numerous prayers I received from seasoned men of God in Kumasi and Accra did not heal me immediately. But I kept on trusting God, praying and fasting. Then came one unforgettable night – a night of salvation, rescue and healing. That was also after I dreamt about a divine council meeting that judged a case between me and someone else (name and identity withheld for obvious reasons).
In another dream, a man of God who I admire so much appeared to me, laid his hands on me and I fell down. That was the manifestation of the Spirit of Christ Jesus, using the man of God’s image to minister healing to me. What a great night it was!
When I woke up, I sensed my Jaws loosed and I began to pray fervently in tongues for hours. Suddenly, I began singing songs of praise and worship to God, something I had not done for years. Then, I heard a voice, telling, “If you are going to keep a clear conscience, you will be healed perpetually.”
Hallelujah! Divine healing began. God healed me, and since 2018, I have been continuing to preach the gospel, teach the commands of Christ Jesus and sing songs of praise and worship to glorify the name of the great Physician. God is faithful and Jesus Christ is real. How, then, can I, James Quansah, say that Jesus Christ is a myth?
