Most Jews Doubted Jesus Because of Lies Leaders Spread About Him

Many Jews doubted Jesus and never believed in Him because of the lies religious leaders spread about Him.

Jesus Christ was verbally assaulted during the period He went about preaching the Good News of the Kingdom of God and healing those who were oppressed of the devil.

Unbelieving Jews doubted that He was the Christ (John 10:24-25). This means they thought that He was fake. Till today most Jews do not believe in Jesus as the Christ.

Jesus was insulted as being insane (John 10: 20). They said, “He is possessed by Beelzebul,” and “by the prince of demons he casts out the demons” (Mark 3:22).

His own family said He was out of his mind (Mark 3: 21). The crowd said He had a demon (John 7: 20). Others said He “is a Samaritan, and has a devil” ((John 8:48, 52). He is glutton and drunkard (Matt. 11: 17- 19).

And His own disciple, Judas Iscariot, betrayed Him for money.

Thus, Christ was physically assaulted during His arrest, trial and crucifixion. The Bible says, “…one of the officers standing by struck Jesus with His hand (John 18: 22). Then they spat in His face and struck him (Matt. 26: 67). And some slapped Him (Matt. 26: 67). And they violently stripped Him naked (Matt. 27: 28).

They also mocked Him (Matt. 27: 29), and spat on him and took the reed and struck him on the head (Matt. 27: 30). Then Pilate took Jesus and flogged him (John 19: 1)7. And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head (John 19: 2).

The crowd came up to Him, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and struck him with their hands (John 19: 3). So they took Jesus, and He went out, bearing His own cross (19: 17). They offered Him wine to drink, mixed with gall (Matt. 27: 34).

They crucified him (Matt. 27: 35). And those who passed by ridiculed Him (Matt. 27: 39)13. So also the chief priests, with the scribes and elders, mocked him (Matt. 27: 41)14. And Jesus cried out and died (Matt. 27: 50). One of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear (John 19: 34).

Matthew 28:12-13

After Jesus had resurrected, the Jewish religious leaders gave a sufficient sum of money to the soldiers who were manning the tomb to tell a lie that “His disciples came by night and stole him away while we were asleep” (Matthew 28:12-13).

Indeed, Christ Jesus suffered; yet, He never opened His mouth to curse or insult His attackers in return. Instead, He forgave them.

Today, many unbelievers say Jesus Christ never existed and that He is a myth. Others say He existed but never resurrected from the dead and that His disciples secretly took His body away.

Many have a problem with His name, arguing that His name is not Jesus Christ but Yeshua Hamashiach. They further argue that Jesus is not the Son of God and for that matter He is not God but a great prophet of God.

Many would not believe in Jesus if they heard the lies wicked people spread about Him and did to Him in this age of social media.

“Nevertheless even among the rulers many believed in Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue; for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God” (John 12:42-43).

Today, many people have rejected some anointed men of God because of lies some Church leaders spread about them. Interestingly, however, some of them now believe in the rejected ministers but find it difficult to confess it for fear of losing their their temporary positions.

Diligently pray, research and study to know people for yourself and not just what the media and other people tell you about them. Remember that people tell lies about others all the time. You can also be a victim.
