Rev. Obofour
Some self-styled church leaders in Ghana do not want any pastor branded as false, charlatan, imposter or fake.
According to them, pastors of all denominations or churches in Ghana and other parts of the world are the same, stressing that none is better than the other.
One of them, Rev. Obofour, head pastor of the Anointed Palace Chapel, in Kumasi, in a viral video, blasts church leaders who describe others as fake.
Rev. Obofour who mocks Jesus Christ and the Bible in his teachings argues that no pastor qualifies to be projected as a perfect minister. He uses the term “perfect.” Surprisingly, he does not mention any pastor who claims to be perfect.
The so-called prophet appears to confuse the phrase “true ministers” with “perfect ministers.” He must know that the adjectives “true” and “perfect” do not mean the same.
While “true”, on one hand, means real, genuine or honest, “perfect”, on the other hand, means flawless or faultless.
Even though born again Christians are blameless, righteous and holy in Christ Jesus, none is absolutely perfect. I mean no Christian has obtained sinless perfection in this world. Every Christian like Paul is striving towards its attainment (Philippians 3:12).
It is, therefore, not surprising that the Bible never refers to any minister of the gospel as a perfect apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor or teacher. This is because everyone is striving to attain sinless perfection by the grace of God.
However, Scriptures directly project some preachers as false, which indirectly present others as true. A true pastor is a genuine pastor or honest pastor.
In the gospels, Jesus Christ often speaks about false prophets just as Paul and Peter, made several references to false apostles and false teachers in their writings (Matthew 7:15; 2 Corinthians 11:13-15; 2 Peter 2:1-3).
It is important, at this juncture, to attempt to explain who a false minister is and what a true minister is within the context of the Bible.
A false minister is someone who has received no divine call of God upon his life. He is self-styled, self-appointed minister who sneaked into the Church to deceive unsuspecting believers (Acts 13:6-12).
A false minister is someone who is greedy and exploit immature believers, refuses to uphold the lordship of Jesus Christ, refuses to abide in the doctrine of Christ, distorts the truths of the gospel and rejects the incarnation of Jesus (2 Peter 2:3; 2 John 1:9).
A genuine minister, on the other hand, is someone divinely called by God, prepared, trained and commissioned to communicate the wisdom of God, the gospel of Jesus Christ.
He sees himself as a servant of Christ Jesus, upholds the lordship of Jesus, abides in the teachings of Christ, serves by the authority and power of the Holy Spirit and lives by faith through love. Remember faith works by love (Galatians 5:6).
You can clearly see that there are true and false pastors overseeing churches in the world today. However, none is absolutely perfect.
Rev. Obofour and his ilk know where they belong. More importantly, God knows those who are His. They are warned to depart from iniquity (2 Timothy 2:19).
