The Word That Leads To Eternal Salvation (1)

There are several words many preachers speak in the hope of leading people to Christ Jesus. And ignorant people respond to each one of them. They do not know that there is a specific word which everyone who seeks to have eternal salvation through Christ Jesus must hear.

You cannot be a candidate of heaven unless you have heard this particular word. What is this word that is alien to all other faiths in the world? Only the Christian Church has it and preaches it for the salvation of souls.

Let me ask you: which word did you hear to lead you to Jesus Christ? Which message persuaded you to place your faith in Christ Jesus? Who preached it to you? Can you also boldly and clearly communicate it to others?

It is very important that the word of reconciliation, the word of His grace, the word of righteousness, the world of faith, the word of truth, the gospel of salvation is clearly heard and properly understood by everyone for eternal salvation.

This word is called the gospel. Strictly, the gospel is the message about the death, burial and resurrection of Christ Jesus. It is this word that sets the Christian Church apart and makes it unique and envious to the devil and his agents.

Knowledge of this word should inspire Christian believers to love God greatly and also work hard to preach it to the multitude of people who have been deceived by the devil.

It is not proper for a pastor to preach just any message and do altar call or simply ask people to confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour, to make them Christians when they have not sincerely heard or received the message of the cross.

I mean, it is biblically incorrect for a pastor to simply quote Romans 10:9-10 and tell people that they will be saved if they confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and believe in their hearts that God raised Him from the dead.

Unfortunately, this is what we hear being done on radio and television stations today. It is one of the challenges facing many churches today. We call people Christians when they have no understanding of what makes people Christians.

Before we tell people to confess with their mouths that Jesus is Lord and Saviour…we ought to have read Romans Chapter 10 properly. We should look at the 8th verse which talks about the Word of faith which must first be in the mouths and hearts of believers.

In other words, people must first have the “Word of faith” which is also called the “Word of truth” in their mouths and hearts before proper confessions of their faith can be made to secure their salvation.

Paul, the apostle, referred to this word as the word of truth, the gospel of salvation, in his letter to believers in Ephesus (Ephesians 1:13).

It was a message the apostle preached for the Ephesians to hear, leading them to believe in Jesus Christ before they were sealed with the Holy Spirit.
