We have established that revival is a divine visitation that restores spiritual vitality, passion for God, and a fresh move of the Holy Spirit in the Church. Revival is both birthed and sustained through prayer.
However, beyond praying for revival to break out in the Church, we must actively prepare the way for it.
In our previous teaching, we highlighted three fundamental keys that set the stage for revival: humility, genuine repentance, and the cleansing of unscriptural practices, man-made traditions, and false doctrines to create an environment for the Holy Spirit to move freely.
Today, we will explore other essential steps that prepare the way for revival.
One of the most critical aspects of true revival is a return to the authority of God’s Word.
The Spirit of God revives our hearts through the Word (Psalm 119:25). The Word should be the centre of every move of God.
Scripture reveals that God’s covenant people experienced revival when they returned to the Word.
The fifth condition that paves the way for revival is unity—unity in love, purpose, and faith.
Revival thrives when believers set aside their personal agendas and seek the Kingdom.
Divisions weaken the Church, but unity attracts God’s presence and power.
The Pentecost revival occurred when the disciples were gathered with one accord.
The next condition necessary for revival is that the Church must have a structured system for winning souls, discipling them, and integrating them into the Kingdom to serve.
Finally, the Church must understand that revival doesn’t happen by chance—it is birthed through faith. Faith should be the foundation as we prepare for revival, believing that God will move according to His Word.
