“All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him” (Matthew 11:27).
God, who is perfect in knowledge, knew the exact solution to all the numerous human problems caused by sin. He knew that at the core of these problems was Satan, who used deception to lead people into sin. This resulted in the blessed life meant for them being turned into a problem-laden life.
Sin brought accompanying problems such as diseases, demons, lusts, the world, death, and hell. These problems are so overpowering and overwhelming that no human being can face them in their own strength. Everyone appears weak, miserable, helpless, and hopeless in the face of these paralyzing problems. Only God the Creator of the universe, can solve these problems, and his solution to each of them is Jesus Christ.
Jesus came to bring the kingdom of God to earth. God’s kingdom is his sovereign rule over people’s hearts, which entails banishing the works of Satan – sin, rebellion, and evil – from the heart. Through Jesus’ shed blood, sin is atoned for, and evil is cast out of a heart that believes in him for righteousness to come in. By his resurrection from the dead, death is overcome, and by his ascension, eternal life is secured.
Jesus has thus become the solution to the world’s problems. Without the cleansing of the soul from sin, everyone will gravitate towards evil, submit to it, be overcome by it, and be destroyed in hell. A sinful heart influences even the most intelligent mind to do evil. However, in obedience to God’s Word, every problem can be solved. God has appointed Christ Jesus the heir of all things (Heb 1:2). The whole world, together with every power in it, has been made subject to him, so He rules over the entire creation.
Life in Christ leads to the revelation of God to a person and the guarantee of freedom and victory to them, so be in him and win the victory over the world.
PRAYER: Father, thank you for Christ Jesus, to whom all creation is subject. May helpless and hopeless humanity come to him to be set free from the enslavement of sin. Amen.
