It is regrettable that many of us, Christians, fail to grow out of carnality and allow our flesh, with its evil tendencies, lusts, cravings, and pleasures, to dominate us.
We, thus, open the door wide to the enemy and give him access to our lives.
Putting on love is a protection against the enemy. However, if we fail to walk in love, Satan can have a heyday in our lives through our flesh.
Therefore, we must embrace the love God has for us and walk in the various characteristics of the God-kind of love.
The love of God poured into our hearts must dominate us to close every door to the enemy.
Scripture, therefore, commands us to keep ourselves safe in God’s love.
Jude 1:21 (Weymouth):
21. . . keep yourselves safe in the love of God. . .
The early Church in Jerusalem demonstrated love among themselves that fostered unity, strength, and the supernatural.
This attracted many to the Church when they saw the genuine expression of their faith (Acts 2:42-47; 4:32-37;5:12-16).
However, in the New Testament, particularly in the letters of the apostle Paul, several issues and sins within the Corinthian church are revealed.
These letters, primarily 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians, address a range of moral, ethical, and other problems, all due to carnality (1 Cor.3:1-3).
Let us abide, remain, and walk in the love of God. It is the most secure and safest environment for us.
